To prepare us for her debut film role, Rihanna explores her character in this behind-the-scenes look of board game-inspired movie Battleship. As Naval weapons officer Raikes, the pop star (in a short-cropped hairdo that severely dates the footage off the bat) discusses her hands-on training with an actual weapons officer. We have to say, as cheesy andTransformers-ish as this movie looks, it’s encouraging to see Rihanna play a fully-clothed badass instead of the main hero’s love interest in a miniskirt. Battleship also stars Alexander Skarsgard, Liam Neeson and Taylor Kitsch, and will be in theaters this May.
