The items that belonged inside home where Michael Jackson spent his last moments on earth raised close to one million dollars this past weekend when they were auctioned off through Julien’s Auctions.

Pre-auction estimates from the company were said to be around $200,000 to $400,000, but fans of the late King of Pop paid a pretty penny to get their hands on some of the furniture that was in the home he rented in California up until his death in June of 2009.

Among the items sold were a kitchen chalkboard where one of Jackson’s children wrote “I love daddy” that pulled in $5,000 and a mirrored armoire that Jackson scrawled the message: “Train perfection March April May. Full Out” raked in an amazing $25,750.

While Jackson’s death bed was not on the auction block per his family’s request, the rug that laid beneath the bed where his lifeless body was found sold for $15,360.

“Michael Jackson has the greatest fans in the world. I can see why he lived for them,” says Darren Julien, president of Julien’s Auctions. “They came out every day this week to bring gifts. It’s unlike anything we’ve ever seen as it relates to a celebrity and their fans.”

In the past, Julien’s Auctions has helped other famous faces with auctions including Cher, Barbra Streisand, William Shatner and Slash.

Business is good for this self-proclaimed ‘Christmas prostitute.’ Michael Buble‘s holiday set, ‘Christmas,’ is well on its way to being the second-biggest selling album of 2011.

Buble’s ‘Christmas’ has moved 1.52 million copies, per Billboard, and could move another 450,000 to 500,000 units last week alone, making for his fourth consecutive No. 1 spot on the weekly top 200 chart. Industry prognosticators estimate that Buble will move 2.4 million copies by the year’s end.

‘Christmas’ is already the fourth best selling album of 2011, behind Lil Wayne‘s ‘Tha Carter IV’ with 1.8 million, Lady Gaga‘s ‘Born This Way’ with 2 million, and Adele‘s unstoppable ’21' taking the top spot with 5 million copies sold. Buble’s record is the only holiday album on the list.

Buble’s chart performance is a testament not only to the crooner’s talent, but also to his marketing strategy. Buble’s blitzed both the radio and television airwaves in support of ‘Christmas,’ with spots on ‘Saturday Night Live,’ the Rockefeller Center tree lighting ceremony and a holiday variety special on NBC featuring fellow Canadian pop phenom Justin Bieber.

Michael Jackson death house contents up for sale (VIDEO)

(CBS News)

The contents of the rented mansion where Michael Jackson died in June 2009 are being auctioned off Saturday in Beverly Hills.

The furnishings are from the Holmby Hills home the singer shared with his children while rehearsing for a comeback concert tour.

Several of the rooms have been recreated in the auction house, Julien's Auctions.
Everything on sale - some 600 pieces in all - surrounded the pop icon during his final months, including items from his bedroom and his "medicine room" - where Jackson died from an overdose of the powerful sedative Propofol.

His actual deathbed was removed from the auction when Jackson's mother, Katherine, made the request. However, many of the singer's fans were allowed to come in and leave tributes on a white platform meant to symbolize his deathbed.

Jackson's taste leaned toward ornate, antique pieces with lots of carvings.

Julien's President Darren Julien gave "Early Show on Saturday Morning" viewers a tour of the contents on display and up for bid, from paintings to antiques to furniture - even his daughter's chalkboard, and an armoire with a mirror on which Jackson wrote an inspirational message to himself: "Train, perfection, March, April, full out May." Julien also told the story behind many of them.
